Designation:
The BSM-9 magneto is designed for generating high voltage pulses
and distributing them to spark plugs of a 9 cylinder piston aircraft
engines.
Description:
The magneto is an electric machine with the magnetic system arranged
in a rotor. The transformer is build into the body of the apparatus.
The magneto produces one high voltage pulse per each magnetic flux
direction change, four pulses per one rotor revolution,
The distributor disc has 9 electrodes.
An engine is started from a starting coil (or starting device) through
the distributor.
The magneto is shielded and suited for shielding the ignition cables.
Technical data:
Rotor speed 600 to 3000 rev/min
Ignition timing advance angle 150 +/-20
Sense of rotation of the rotor anti - clockwise (as seen from a
drive side)
Weight 5.4 kG
